Cybercafe SurfShop Free: A truly global and innovative advertising

The Technology
Dynasoft is the company that has pioneered
global advertising to public-access Internet user. We can
offer publishers the opportunity to place their ads on a medium
that is installed on over 6000 PCs worldwide in 108 countries
and currently offers a combined average monthly exposure time
for a typical 20-second Shockwave-based (e.g.) add of 800
days. This figure is obtained by multiplying the typical duration
of an add by the number of times it shows across our network
of host PCs in those 108 countries.
Our ad serving technology is tamper-proof
and delivers ads directly on each PC in each site around the
world. Surfshop Free uses a client/server computer
architecture in each location to deliver, display and manage
the ads locally. The local server or main control PC is used
as the sink where the ads are pushed from our servers to the
remote site. This local server then ensures the ads run on
all client PCs in a particular site. Typically the advertising
scenario that we provide locally in each site is the following:

Clips run on
the server interface to the right of the controls that
are used to start and stop sessions on the client PCs.

Clips show on
the client PCs in full screen mode when these are not
used, ie when the PCs are not in session. During sessions,
clips run on a fixed banner at the top of the screen and
the home page of Internet Explorer is used as a fourth
location where ads are shown. This maximises the number
of spaces where advertsing is offered. Formats supported
for the clips are: video (avi, mpeg,..), Macromedia Flash
or Shockwave, or static picture files.
Cybercafe SurfShop Free operates on two levels in terms
of interactivity between the user and the ads:
- The end-user cannot interact with the ad that shows
on the client PCs when no one is sitting at the PC. The
ads run very much like they would do on television.
- Interactivity (i.e., clicking on web links) is possible
with the ads running in the top banner, on the home page
of Internet Explorer in the client PC, and on the main interface
of the server programme, just as they would with any normal
website.
